Compression & swelling
Getting swelling under control so legs can heal.
Swelling in the lower legs keeps wounds open and skin fragile. Proper compression — done correctly and consistently — is what brings the swelling down and lets these wounds finally close.
Leg swelling (edema) is one of the most common reasons leg wounds won’t heal and keep coming back. The fix is graduated compression to move fluid out of the leg — but it has to be the right kind, applied correctly, and kept up. Done wrong, or skipped, the wound stalls.
Our clinicians make sure compression is safe for your circulation, apply it properly, and set you up to maintain it. We treat the wound and the swelling together, because one won’t resolve without the other.
This is a fit for
- Venous leg ulcers and weepy lower-leg wounds
- Ongoing swelling in one or both legs
- Wounds that heal then reopen near the ankle
- Anyone struggling to keep compression up at home
